Professional Vinylester Resin 5kg
Premium 5kg vinylester resin for professional marine repairs and high-strength laminations. Engineered for maximum osmosis resistance and superior mechanical properties, it is the perfect solution for structural skin coats and critical fiberglass reinforcements.
This Professional Vinylester Resin 5kg is a high-performance thixotropic and pre-accelerated resin, specifically formulated for the most demanding maritime and industrial applications.
Unlike standard polyester resins, its vinylester chemical backbone offers outstanding resistance to water hydrolysis, making it the primary choice for creating a protective anti-osmosis barrier (skin coat) on boat hulls. The 5 kg format is specifically designed for professionals and demanding hobbyists who require industrial-grade performance for localized repairs or small, high-stress structural parts.
✔ Maximum Osmosis Barrier → Superior chemical resistance to prevent blistering and water ingress.
✔ Exceptional Toughness → Higher elongation at break compared to polyester resins, reducing cracks.
✔ Zero Sagging → Thixotropic formulation for easy application on vertical hulls and surfaces.
✔ High Heat Resistance → Maintains structural integrity even at higher operating temperatures.
✔ Industrial Adhesion → Excellent bonding to various reinforcements including Carbon and Aramid fibers.
Type: Vinylester resin
Format: 5 kg (Bucket)
Status: Thixotropic and pre-accelerated
Catalysis: MEKP
Application: Structural lamination and anti-osmosis treatments
🔹 Catalyzation
Requires the addition of 2% catalyst.
➡ In warm environments (>25°C), reduce to 1.5% (do not go below 1% for a full chemical cure).
| Resin | Catalyst 2% |
| 1 kg | 20 g |
| 2 kg | 40 g |
| 5 kg | 100 g |
Mix thoroughly for 1 minute until the mixture is uniform.
👉 Pro Tip: Ensure the surface is perfectly clean and dry. Vinylester resins provide the best results when used on freshly sanded fiberglass.
Can be tinted with high-grade pigment pastes.
Recommended Dosage: 2.5%
| Resin | Pigment Paste |
| 1 kg | 25 g |
| 5 kg | 125 g |
Optimized for brush or roller application.
Perfect for manual layering with Glass Mat (CSM) or high-performance fabrics.
| Glass Mat | Weight/m² | Resin Needed | Laminate Thickness |
| 300 g/m² | 0.3 kg | 0.75 kg | 0.6 – 0.9 mm |
| 450 g/m² | 0.45 kg | 1.125 kg | 0.9 – 1.2 mm |
| 600 g/m² | 0.6 kg | 1.5 kg | 1.2 – 1.6 mm |
Boat Hull Repairs: Professional-grade repairs requiring high structural safety.
Skin Coat Layer: Used as the first layer behind the gelcoat to prevent osmosis.
Corrosive Environments: Building parts exposed to chemicals or salt spray.
Automotive & Tuning: High-stress components where standard polyester is too brittle.
Bucket: 5 kg
