Star Teak UV Colorless Protector is engineered for boat owners who prefer the authentic, light look of natural teak but demand maximum protection against the harsh marine environment. While the sun and salt normally strip the natural oils from the wood—leading to brittleness and silvering—this protector saturates the fibers to block moisture and radiation from within.
Because it is a non-film-forming impregnator, it allows the wood to breathe. 🔹 Application Instructions
Preparation: The teak must be surgically clean and 100% dry. We recommend pre-treating with Star Teak Concentrated Cleaner.
Apply: Use a wide, soft-bristle brush or a lint-free cotton cloth. Work in the direction of the wood grain.
Absorb: Allow the oil to penetrate the fibers for 15–20 minutes.
Wipe: Use a clean cloth to remove any excess oil that hasn’t been absorbed. This prevents “shiny spots” and ensures a uniform matte finish.
Curing: Avoid contact with water for at least 12–24 hours for the protector to fully set.
👉 Pro Tip: In the nautical sector, always apply this oil in the early morning or late afternoon. Applying oil to a deck that is baking in the midday sun will cause the solvent to evaporate too quickly, preventing the oil from reaching the deep fibers where protection is needed most.
