Super-Hard Buffing Pads
Professional Corcos W8–W64 Super-Hard Buffing Pads series buffing pads (160x50mm). Engineered with a super-hard, high-porosity foam structure for maximum cutting power. These pads feature beveled edges for safer handling near corners and a secure hook-and-loop (Velcro) attachment. Ideal for removing heavy oxidation and deep defects on gelcoat and painted surfaces.
The Corcos W8–W64 Super-Hard Buffing Pads series represents the most aggressive foam technology in the Corcos finishing line. These pads are built for Level 1 Correction, where the goal is to remove material quickly and evenly to eliminate surface imperfections.
The unique super-hard and porous structure allows for superior airflow during high-speed machine polishing, which significantly reduces heat buildup—the number one enemy of fresh paint and gelcoat. The 50mm thickness provides a deep cushion that absorbs machine vibrations, while the beveled (sloped) edges allow the operator to tilt the polisher safely around stanchions, cleats, and hull curves without the risk of the backing pad striking the surface.
✔ Super-Hard Porous Foam → Exceptional cutting capacity for rapid defect removal.
✔ Beveled Edge Design → Increased safety and maneuverability around complex boat geometries.
✔ Advanced Heat Management → The porous cell structure prevents “burning” the resin or paint.
✔ Industrial Durability → Fully washable and reusable; built to survive multiple intensive detailing projects.
✔ Standard 160mm Diameter → Perfect fit for 125mm to 150mm backing pads (like the Corcos 150/151).

🔹 Application Instructions
Center the W8–W64 pad onto a clean 150mm backing pad.
Apply 4-5 dots of a heavy cutting compound to the pad face.
Spread the compound at a low speed (Setting 1-2) over a 50x50cm area.
Increase speed and apply moderate pressure. The hard foam will “work” the abrasives into the oxidation.
Cleaning: After every section, use a pad brush or compressed air to remove spent compound and “spent” gelcoat dust to keep the pores open.
👉 Pro Tip: Because these pads are very hard, they can leave light “holograms” on dark surfaces. Always follow up with a softer Corcos pad (like a medium or soft foam) and a finishing polish to achieve a mirror-deep shine.
Marine Restoration: Removing heavy chalking and yellowing from old white gelcoat.
Automotive Paint Correction: Leveling deep scratches and removing P1500–P2000 sanding marks.
Industrial Coatings: Buffing out orange peel on large painted surfaces or molds.
Fiberglass Molds: Polishing new molds to a high-gloss finish before the first release.
