Microcel Glass Microballoons is a high-performance additive consisting of microscopic, hollow glass spheres. When mixed with epoxy, polyester, or vinylester resins, it creates a “low-density” paste that is exceptionally easy to spread and sand.
In the marine and aerospace industries, Microcel is the go-to filler for fairing and surface leveling. Because the spheres are hollow, they significantly increase the volume of the resin without adding substantial weight. Once cured, the resulting compound can be sanded effortlessly to a feather-edge, making it perfect for achieving a perfectly smooth hull or deck before painting.

🔹 Application Instructions
Mix your resin and hardener/catalyst thoroughly first.
Gradually fold in the Microcel powder.
For Slight Thickening: Add a small amount to reduce resin sag.
For Fairing Compound: Add until you reach a “mayonnaise” or “peanut butter” consistency.
Apply with a plastic spreader or spatula.
Once cured, sand using P80 to P240 grit sandpaper for a professional finish.
👉 Pro Tip: For structural repairs on vertical surfaces, mix Microcel with a small amount of Cab-O-Sil (Colloidal Silica). The Microcel makes it easy to sand, while the Cab-O-Sil prevents the mixture from sagging.
