Description

🚀 Contender Hard Matrix Antifouling

Contender Hard Matrix is a premium antifouling paint developed for vessels that require a durable, non-ablative finish. Unlike self-polishing paints, its hard-matrix structure stays intact, providing a smooth, low-friction surface that is ideal for fast motorboats, powerboats, and sailboats that are frequently used or kept on trailers.

Main Features

Hard Matrix Technology Provides a tough, resistant coating that does not wear away, making it suitable for high-speed navigation (over 25 knots).

Scrubbable Finish The hard surface can be periodically cleaned or scrubbed to maintain maximum hull efficiency without removing the paint.

Trailer-Friendly Perfect for boats that are frequently hauled out, launched, or transported on trailers, as the paint does not lose its effectiveness when exposed to air.

Seasonal Protection Formulated with high-quality biocides to prevent the growth of algae, barnacles, and marine organisms in all water conditions.

🛥 Application & Compatibility Ideal for:

  • High-speed motorboats and racing yachts.

  • Boats kept on trailers or dry-docked frequently.

  • Fiberglass (GRP), wood, and steel hulls. Note: Not suitable for aluminum or light alloy hulls due to its copper-based formula.

🛠 Technical Advantages

✔ Maintains a constant smooth surface for optimized fuel consumption.

✔ High resistance to mechanical abrasion and impact.

✔ Excellent adhesion properties on various substrates.

✔ Suitable for both salt and brackish water environments.

📝 Instructions for Use Preparation

  • The hull must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants.

  • Sand existing hard antifouling with P120-P180 grit. If the old paint is unknown or self-polishing, it must be removed or sealed with a dedicated primer. Mixing

  • Stir thoroughly before and during application to ensure uniform distribution of the active ingredients. Application

  • Apply 2 coats by roller, brush, or spray for seasonal protection.

  • Apply an extra coat on high-wear areas such as the waterline and bow.

Final Result

A high-strength, smooth protective layer that ensures your boat maintains peak performance and speed throughout the season.
