Bekol Skippers Glossy Flatting
Professional Bekol Skippers Glossy Flatting in a 0.75 L format. A premium, high-gloss transparent varnish based on glycerophthalic resins. Specifically formulated for nautical and exterior use, it creates a highly elastic, waterproof barrier that protects wood from UV rays, salt air, and heavy moisture while enhancing the natural beauty of the timber grain.
Bekol Skippers Glossy Flatting is the choice for boat owners and woodworkers who demand a traditional, deep-luster finish that doesn’t sacrifice protection. In marine settings, wood is subject to constant “movement”; Bekol addresses this with superior distension and elasticity, ensuring the protective film remains intact even on exposed handrails, toe-rails, and exterior trim.
The formula provides an exceptionally smooth flow during application, reducing brush marks and resulting in a uniform, professional shine. Whether used on new timber or for restoring aged fixtures, this flatting varnish acts as a chemical shield against the yellowing effects of the sun and the corrosive nature of saltwater. It is available in a perfectly clear version to preserve the wood’s original tone or slightly tinted variants to add warmth to the grain.

🔹 For Professional Results
New Wood: Start with a base coat of Lignum Wood Stain. Allow to dry for 3–4 days. Apply the first coat of Skipper’s diluted up to 50% with white spirit to ensure deep anchorage. Follow with 2–3 full-strength coats.
Maintenance (Good Condition): Lightly sand with fine-grit sandpaper (P240–P320), clean thoroughly, and apply 2 fresh coats.
Restoration (Damaged Surface): Scrape away all peeling varnish. Sand the bare wood, clean, and treat as “New Wood.”
👉 Pro Tip: In the nautical sector, always sand lightly between coats once dry. This removes “nibs” or dust particles and creates a mechanical bond for the next layer, resulting in that coveted “piano-finish” depth.
Yacht Brightwork: Protecting and shining handrails, companionways, and wooden trim.
Exterior Joinery: High-gloss protection for doors, window frames, and shutters.
Garden Luxury: Enhancing the look of premium wooden outdoor furniture.
Interior Details: Providing a durable, easy-clean finish for cabin tables and flooring.
0.75 L Can: The standard size for detailed nautical maintenance and home projects.
A stunning, high-gloss finish that not only looks professional but provides a rugged, elastic shield against the toughest environmental conditions on land or at sea.
