SK1 One-Component Anticorrosive Primer
Professional SK1 One-Component Anticorrosive Primer by Skipper’s Line. A fast-drying, anticorrosive foundation specifically formulated for superior adhesion on propellers, shafts, and outdrives. Available in 0.750L and 2.5L formats, it creates a flexible, compact film compatible with stainless steel, bronze, and aluminum.
The SK1 One-Component Anticorrosive Primer is a high-performance synthetic resin coating designed for the harshest underwater environments. While standard primers struggle with the centrifugal force and cavitation found on propellers, SK1 is engineered to maintain a tenacious grip on non-ferrous alloys like brass, bronze, and aluminum, as well as stainless steel.
Its versatile formula makes it more than just a propeller base; it is an excellent matte finish for engine rooms and bilges, offering reliable resistance to oil and diesel splashes. Whether you are prepping a racing propeller or protecting the interior ribs of a hull, SK1 provides a protective barrier that prevents corrosion and ensures the longevity of your topcoat. Its rapid drying time—touch dry in just 30 to 60 minutes—allows for fast turnaround times in the shipyard.
✔ Superior Metal Adhesion → Specialized for “difficult” metals: Stainless Steel, Brass, Bronze, and Light Alloys.
✔ Ultra-Fast Drying → Ready for overcoating in as little as 4–6 hours, optimizing shipyard schedules.
✔ Anticorrosive Shield → Formulated with protective pigments to stop electrolysis and oxidation.
✔ Flexible Compact Film → Absorbs structural vibrations without cracking or peeling.
✔ Chemical Resistance → Durable enough for engine bays; resists fuel, oil, and seawater.
✔ Multi-Surface Utility → Effective on Fiberglass (GRP) and technical plastics as a tie-coat.
Brand: Skipper’s Line (Nautical)
Type: One-Component (1K) Synthetic Resin
Color: Beige / Ivory
Theoretical Coverage: 7–8 $m^2/L$
Recommended Thickness: 30–40 microns per coat
Application Temp: +10°C to +40°C
Overcoating: Compatible with both 1K and 2K systems
| Method | Thinning (Diluente 765) | Drying Time (20°C) |
| Brush / Roller | 10% – 20% | Touch Dry: 30–60 min |
| Spray Gun | 30% – 40% | Overcoat: 4–6 hours |
Surface Prep: The metal must be “white metal” and clean. Use 80–100 grit sandpaper to create a mechanical key. Degrease thoroughly with Diluente 765 or Acetone before applying the first coat.
👉 Pro Tip: For the ultimate propeller protection cycle, apply one even coat of SK1 Primer followed by two coats of a high-speed propeller antifouling. This “sandwich” technique is the only way to prevent barnacle growth on high-pitch blades.
Propellers & Running Gear: Essential base for shafts, rudders, and propellers.
Engine Rooms: Matte protective finish for bilges, ribs, and engine mounts.
Marine Hardware: Priming stainless steel or aluminum deck fittings before painting.
Internal Hulls: Anticorrosive coating for the interior of metal or GRP vessels.
0.750 Liters: Ideal for propellers, shafts, and small hardware repairs.
2.5 Liters: Best for engine rooms, bilges, and large-scale metal priming.
Color: Beige/Ivory
A rock-solid, Anticorrosive Primer foundation that chemically anchors your finish to the metal, preventing the common “peeling” issues associated with underwater running gear.
